The UFC is coming off one of it’s most controversial PPV in years, with UFC 143′s main event ending in a close decision in which Carlos Condit became the interim Welterweight champion with a win over Nick Diaz. The action continues this week with a rare midweek event titled UFC on Fuel TV: Sanchez vs Ellengerger. With Spike and Versus now out of the way, the UFC is putting together events for a variety of UFC channels including Fox, FX, and the newly developed channel Fuel TV.

The main event could very well be a Welterweight number 1 contender match (with two champions, does that make it number 2 contender?), especially if Ellenberger wins, many believe he will be next in line for a title shot. Ellenberger has won 9 out of his last 10 fights with his only loss during this time being a close decision over Condit, and is coming off of a rapid finish of Jake Shields.
Diego ‘The Dream’ Sanchez doesn’t nearly have as hot of a streak going, as even the TUF 1 winner’s last win was a controversial one over Martin Kampmann in which Diego’s face looked like it was being processed into a hamburger by McDonald’s. Nevertheless, Diego’s heart is unmatched and he will keep coming at you in a relentless fashion.
Also on the card is an intriguing heavyweight match between Stefan Struve vs Dave Herman. The two giants are known to throw it down and it will be entertaining to witness such large men going head to head in the night’s co-main event.
