Rockets Beef Up Lineup, Sign Center Miller

The deal for the 34-year-old, Kendallville, IN., native, is worth about $15 million, according to the Houston Chronicle.com.

The 7-foot, 261-pound Miller, who played the last two seasons in Chicago, will be an ideal compliment to Luis Scola and Yao Ming, who is expected to return after missing all last year following foot surgery.

A vital cog in the Bulls’ success of reaching the playoffs the last two years, Miller attracted interest from a number of teams but opted to play again for current Rockets coach Rick Adelman.

Miller thrived under Adelman’s offense, while playing under him in Sacramento. Miller also was named to two All-Star Games during his stint with the Kings.

In his second tour with the Bulls, Miller averaged 8.8 points and 4.9 boards in 82 games as a backup to Joakim Noah last season.

Miller averaged 11.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists, while making 48.2 percents of his shots in 12 NBA seasons.
