Orlando, FL, United States (AHN) – The Orlando Magic bolstered their backcourt Tuesday by acquiring a reliable backup point guard in Chris Duhon.
Orlando Magic Sign Chris Duhon To Four-Year Deal
The veteran guard reached agreement with the Magic on a four-year, $15 million deal, according to reports.
Teams cannot officially sign free agents until Thursday.
Duhon, 27, the Knicks former starting point guard for the past two seasons, will serve as backup to Jameer Nelson, the only point guard currently on the Magic’s roster.
Orlando’s reserves last year, Jason Williams and Anthony Johnson, are free agents.
Duhon, who spent the past two years with the Knicks, was on the Magic’s radar in 2008, the last time he was a free agent.
He eventually joined the Knicks.
Last year, he averaged 7.4 points and 5.6 assists for New York.
The former Duke standout was picked in the second round of the 2004 NBA Draft by Chicago, where he spent his four NBA seasons.
In his six NBA seasons, Duhon has averaged 7.7 points and 5.6 assists.
