Dana White announced this week that Kenny “KenFlo” Florian has officially retired from MMA. THE UFC veteran made history for fighting in a range of weight divisions starting at 185 pounds and finishing up with his title fight against Jose Aldo at 145. Florian initially rose to prominence with his sharp elbows that earned him a place on the TUF 1 finale, but his fighting skills, work ethic, and perseverance took a life of its own and escalated him as one of the sport’s most respected fighters – despite 2 failed attempts at a title.
Florian now serves as the voice of the UFC on its non PPV cards as well as other programming on FUEL TV. With a record of 12-5 in the UFC, and plenty of landmark fights along the way, some will lobby for Florian to enter the UFC Hall of Fame – a decision that Dana White and the Fertita brothers will ultimately have to make.
