Miami, FL, United States (AHN) – Dwyane Wade, who missed an impromptu fans rally Monday morning after returning to South Florida, reportedly met in the afternoon with Miami Heat owner Micky Arison.
The attempted team-organized welcome rally was the latest effort by the Heat to show their support for Wade, who is considering offers from Miami and his hometown Chicago Bulls.
Dwyane Wade Meets With Heat Owner
Wade, who helped capture Miami’s first-ever NBA championship in 2006, met with the Heat’s recruiting contingent last week in Chicago, which included Heat President Pat Riley, coach Erik Spoelstra and former Heat player Alonzo Mourning.
Apart from the Heat and Bulls, whom he already met with twice, the six-time All-Star and former scoring champion also met with the Knicks and Nets.
After arriving from Charleston, S.C. on a commercial flight Monday morning, Wade was reportedly seen entering the team’s arena with team owner Arison.
The Heat are reportedly dangling a six-year, $125 million contract offer.
It is much higher than the reported five-year, $96 million deal by the Bulls, the leading outside contender for Wade.
On Tuesday, Wade will be making a promotional appearance in Davie at Nova Southern University, where is slated to conduct a summer youth basketball camp.
