Champions League Action Resumes With Round of 16

After a lengthy break from continental club football action, the Champions League returns on a day where millions of lovers across the world will be celebrating Valentine’s Day. For sports fans without a special someone, the company of Lionel Messi and some of the other top European players going head to head will have to do.

The football action will commence with a duo of match that includes surprise outfit APOEL make the trip to France to try to upset veteran side Olympique Lyon. The most interesting match of the night however will be defending champions Barcelona travelling to Germany to take on an unpredictable Bayer Leverkusen side. With Barcelona 10 points behind Real Madrid in the domestic league title race, the pressure has mounted in the shoulders on Pep Guardiola to deliver another Champions League trophy.

On Wednesday the action resumes with Zenit facing off against Benfica while AC Milan will be hosting Arsenal. The AC Milan vs Arsenal match is easily the most juicy of matchups in the round of 16 as two of Europe’s top teams collide with only one able to make it through to the quarterfinals.
